Concrete and crushed granite blocks gave this century old relief-housing project a sense of permanence, and subsequently its namesake. Exposing this site-specific building material was the intention of this extensive interior renovation. Refurbished original Douglas fir flooring combined with minimalist modern cabinetry and detailing ushers this home into a new era while acknowledging its historic beginnings.
